Meet the Beavers
Beaver Lekker ( Amsterdam, The Netherlands )
Hi all, I'm lekker. :D I'm a California girl living in Amsterdam, and I love it here. I make the annual journey home to the playa to see my mates and explore possibilities... Hopefully I'll be seeing you this year too!
Mitch ( San Francisco, Canada )
I am quiet and crazy fun at the same time. I love Burning Man and I am in love with Camp Beaverton!
Val ( Portland, United States )
I like adventures, spontaneity, and soulful people!
BUCKET ( Boston, United States )
Been Burnin' since 1999- finally found "home" on the playa. Beavers fulfill my soul! Across the miles, thru life's trials and tribulations, and the trek to the desert- I am so grateful to this camp!
Bonnie ( Seattle, USA )

Fuzzy D ( West Hollywood, US )
Hi! I have been a beaver since 2007, and am a very happy part of Freedom Community. I am very excited for the 2010 Burning Man experience, and will make up lost time from 09. I have photos from 07... I'll put them on facebook. http://www.dannakinsky.com/
trish ( moab, usa )
Motorcycles, off-roading, whitewater rafting, and hiking are some of my passions making me a prime beaver for next years camping experience. I missed out on the 'beaver living' last year but found a true home in their welcoming arms, thank you.
Allison, Driver ( Oakland, USA )
I was Mayor of Beaverton at Burning Man 2008. Recently transplanted from Los Angeles, now I live in Oakland, with honorary Man-Beav, Reid.
I have so much love for Camp Beaverton- especially watching it grow, and seeing the looks on the faces of the women who discover us each year- a dazzled excitement, a mixture of relief and joy, a "where have you been all my life?!" satisfaction.
Sugar ( London (if I could stay here forever...) / NYC, )

I have looked but I cannot find the definitive phrase."
-Elizabeth Block.
I write. I do other things too.
Last year was my first time at BM, and even though I didn't officially camp with the Beavers I spent all of my time over there! I'm back for more - and this time, my tent will be where I am!
Sonja ( Greater SF/Bay Area, )
I am head-over-heels in love with Kara Thrace. There can be no other for me. (Final season on DVD next week. Can't wait)
////////////////////////////////// Doctor Gaius Baltar: Lieutenant Thrace! Good to see you!
Lt. Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: Good to see you too!
Doctor Gaius Baltar: Really?
Lt. Kara 'Starbuck' Thrace: No!
Number Six: Oh!
Doctor Gaius Baltar: I wonder if she's a real blonde.
Number Six: I doubt it.
//////////////////////////////////
Doctor Gaius Baltar: All right, that's it! No more Mr. Nice Gaius!
//////////////////////////////////
Apollo: Are you sure this is a good idea?
Starbuck: No... not really.
REiD Mihalko ( New York City/Oakland, USA )
I am simultaneously the luckiest bio boy on the planet and, this year, the saddest... In '05, during my first trip to the playa, I was charged by my dyke-o-licous accountant with the weighty task of creating a large-scale lesbian camp on the playa so she could find all the kick-ass queers...
It took me two years, but in '07, with the collaboration of an amazingly brave and brazen bunch of Beavers, we did what had never been done before that we know of: Camp Beaverton for Wayward Girls!
And, girl-oh-girl!, did we DO IT AGAIN in '08!
Why am I the saddest queer on Earth in '09? I can't be in Black Rock City this year to witness all the rainbow flag waving, kickin' back and chillin', beer guzzling and body shot shooting frivolity and sexcapades that you pink-triangled gaggle of packin' gangstas are going to create. : (
Needless to say: I will miss you all and cannot wait to hear all about it!

Firehose ( Los Angeles, USA )
Hi, I'm Firehose. I stumbled upon the Beavers this year, but true to their creed, they took this 'wayward girl' and gave her a home. Suffice it to say, it was the best Burn ever. Next year, I'll actually be a real, grown-up Beaver. Yay!
DollaYo ( Los Angeles, USA )
Newbie here! Looking forward to catching up with you all in SF.
